The Paintings of Lord Kṛṣṇa [Krishna] are portraits of the actual presiding Deities or forms of the Lord that have been approved by śāstra [Holy Scripture] and by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda the Founder and Ācārya of the International Society of Kṛṣṇa Consciousness [ISKCON}. The ‘mood’ in which They are clothed and ornamented is done in the same way that a Pūjārī [Priest] would do when dressing the Lord in a Temple, hence the different ‘moods’ or dress style of the different paintings.
